The Continental Divide
The wind up here sounds just like the ocean. Seven days ago I stood in the Pacific, listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. I spread my father’s ashes in the water, said goodbye to my wife and began riding. One week and nearly 1,100 miles later, we crossed the Continental Divide and put the mountains of the west behind us. And we will keep going until we hear the sound of the ocean again.
Stage 7 / Week 1 of LIOTR is finished!
Only 17 stages to go. If 900+ miles and nearly 50k feet of climbing doesn’t deserve a victory salute, then I don’t know what does. Stay tuned for a recap of the week on the website, and hey… maybe even celebrate with us by donating or preordering a t-shirt at leaveitontheroad.com!
Knee troubles
That little bandaid on Drew’s knee is kind of a big deal. He’s had surgery there twice in the past & after our epic Stage 3 he woke up with it swollen and extremely painful. Luckily we were in Boise where his brother is a doctor. He was able to get a Cortisol shot and we’ve since ridden another 250 miles with no issues. Phew!
Fight cancer with coffee!
Stanley’s dad is riding his bike across the US & he would really appreciate it if you helped fight cancer by ordering some @grimpeurbros LIOTR single origin roast to order coffee. The proceeds go to the Colon Cancer Alliance! More info at grimpeurbros.com, order deadline for this week’s roast is 3pm today. (at LIOTR Service Course)
